  • To deliver training and manage memberships
  • To support student safety and emergency response
  • To send communication and marketing (you may opt-out anytime)
  • For staff certification and safety compliance

Data Security

All personal data is securely stored, encrypted where appropriate, and only accessible by authorised staff.

Agreement

By becoming a member, you agree to a subscription-based model with fortnightly payments, continuing until written cancellation notice is received and processed.

Cancellation Policy

  • Requires 60 days active notice via in-person or email form (no phone/SMS/social media accepted).
  • You must be up to date with payments to cancel.

Freeze Policy

  • Freeze requests require 30 days active notice, valid up to 90 days total.
  • To cancel during a freeze, your membership must be reactivated and 60 days active notice still applies.

Payment Terms

  • You must not cancel your card or bank account without cancelling your membership.
  • Dishonest action may result in fees and debt collection.

Class Attendance and Multi- Location Access

Students are required to attend only the number of classes specified in their selected membership plan. Class attendance is monitored and must remain within the limits outlined in each student’s plan pack.

Access to multiple SJJA locations is a benefit exclusively reserved for members on an Unlimited Plan. Students on limited-class plans are only permitted to attend classes at their home academy (the location where they initially signed up) and may not visit or train at other SJJA locations unless they upgrade to an Unlimited Plan.

Liability Waiver & Participation Risk

  • Martial arts training involves physical contact and may result in serious injury or death.
  • Risks may arise from other participants, equipment, or personal fitness.
  • You agree to inspect facilities and inform coaches if conditions feel unsafe.
  • You assume full responsibility for all injury or property loss.
  • You agree to follow all SJJA rules and safety guidance.
  • You confirm you are in good physical condition to participate.
  • You allow medical treatment to be provided if necessary.
  • You release SJJA, its coaches, and affiliates from any liability.
  • You consent to the use of photos/videos for social media, marketing, or the website unless otherwise requested in writing or in person
Wearing an official SJJA uniform is mandatory in class.

You are responsible for signing into class and updating your belt level with staff when promoted.

Zero Tolerance Policy

SJJA upholds a strict zero-tolerance stance on:

  • Bullying or intimidation
  • Sexual harassment or inappropriate behaviour
  • Discrimination of any kind

Any member, coach, staff, or parent in breach of these policies may be immediately investigated and removed from SJJA.

Staff & Coaching Requirements

All SJJA coaches and staff must:

  • Follow the SJJA Coach Code of Conduct
  • Hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Maintain up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
  • Participate in annual SJJA Staff Training Courses

Separate Business Entities Disclaimer

Each SJJA location operates as an independent business entity. While all locations commit to following SJJA’s guidelines and standards, they may have separate ownership, management, and operational procedures. SJJA HQ and affiliated locations do not accept liability for actions, policies, or incidents arising at other SJJA locations. Members should direct any concerns or inquiries to the specific location involved.
